This place is absolutely amazing. While it is away from the main tourist hub of Dist 1, in many respects that is a good thing. Still, it is within easy and safe walking distance of major sites (e.g. War Remnants Museum - 5 mins, Ben Tanh Market - 15 mins, Notre Dame - 20 mins), the street is very quiet and full of great eateries (ranging from super-budget cafes to gourmet restaurants). A Co-Op supermarket is 3 blocks away. Best of all is the space! For the price of a standard hotel room you get a full-blown apartment. Not to mention the little bonuses of free WiFi, fabulous staff and 25 litres of bottled water thrown in too!!! I'll be staying here every time I'm in HCMC if its not fully booked - as it should be! NOTE: If you want a hotel with all the trimmings, mini-bar, room service etc. then this place is not for you. If you want space, a quiet street and eateries nearby, this can't be beaten. I was a little hesitant at first to book this place on www.wotif.com as there were no other previous reviews of it on tripadvisor. I booked a 2 BR "Luxury Apartment" and was not dissapointed. The appartment is very modern and very spacious and has a full kitchen, big living room with balcony and 2 generous sized bedrooms (both rooms have queen size beds). I can't fault it but don't expect hotel services as this is SERVICED APARTMENT (ie not a hotel) and there is no pool. The hotel is located in district 3 on the opposite side of the Reunification Palace to District 1 so its not far from the action (about 20 mins walk or $1.20 in taxi). Ms Nguyen supervises the building office in the garage and was our point of contact between 8am and 5pm for anything we needed. If you are arriving after hours, the 24hr security guard at the front entrance will let you in and take you up to the apartment (he also takes the breakfast order slip from you the night before). All said, if you looking for a good value spacious 2 br apartment in HCMC then I have no hesitation recommending Saigon Apartments. Stayed October 2010, traveled with family
